In the past two years, due to the epidemic, the Yu Lan Festival has been suspended, so we were unable to shoot relevant clips, but recently the editorial department found some old clips, which were filmed in 2016. We decided to share it with the readers.
In the clip, you can see that the Yu Lan Festival was held on Staunton Street opposite the PMQ. There were no road closures during the period, and cars could pass by as usual. The Soho district of Staunton Street is a highly westernized area in Hong Kong. There are many bars and restaurants nearby. It is a place where many foreign tourists or foreigners living in Hong Kong like to spend time. It feels very good to hold the Yu Lan Festival here. In particular, I saw Taoist priests chanting sutras, neighbors making treasures and burning clothes, foreign tourists stopping to watch out of curiosity, and even taking pictures with their cameras. The two cultures of Chinese and the Western are perfectly integrated, which is peculiar but not contradictory.
